Spanish Gastronomia

Traditional Spanish food is mostly based off Greek, Roman, Phoenician and Moorish foods. Spaniards still eat Moorish foods now. There is a lot of sea food in Spanish cuisine because it is mostly surrounded by water. Pork is very popular is Spain and has been for centuries. Another traditional ingredient in Spanish food is olive oil, this is because Spain produces 40% of the worlds olives. The Spanish usually have a light breakfast and a much bigger lunch/dinner. Spanish tapas are extremely popular. An important Spanish food or recipe is Jamon Serrano, a special ham which is not smoked. Sausages make up a part of the Spanish diet as well. Salads and fried potatoes come as appetizers in a typical Spanish food menu. Desserts are usually made of eggs, ground almonds, flour and milk.- Aidan
