Spanish Food

Spanish Food is quite different to ours and they have a lot of different dishes too.
Tapas:
Tapas is  a snack that is very popular in Spain. If you go into a restaurant and buy a drink you will receive some tapas. It can range from seafood to olives. Seafood is used a lot mainly because Spain is a country that is open to the sea.
Paella:
Paella is a colourful rice dish that is very popular in Spain. It can be made with chicken, seafood, vegetables and rice. Another rice dish is arroz a la cubana but it contains tomato sauce and fried egg with rice.
Patatas Bravas:
Patatas bravas is a very spicy dish with fried potatoes covered in spicy tomato sauce. Other names for it are papas bravas, patatas a la brava. You will usually receive it as tapas.
Tortilla de patatas:
Tortilla de patatas is a Spanish omelet. It has fried potatoes and can also have garlic and onion.
Chorizo is a type of pork in Spain and jamón serrano is a type of ham. A type of sausage that the spanish eat is called chistorra. It can have beef or minced pork. It comes from Navarre.
